Record Spending of 1967 according to Los Angeles Times
I was in a restaurant over the weekend that had copies of newspaper front pages from the past. Never mind the headline in this photo from the 1967 edition of The Los Angeles Times. Look at the column on the left. A $5.154 a billion record budget?
I sat through 8 years of co-workers bashing President Bush all day long over things like spending, yet in 50 days alone this new administration as doubled his spending and is working on tripling and quadrupling it.
When last calculated, that's over $23,000 of new tax per tax payer! Are you OK with this? When will you say enough is enough?
According to the Small Business Administration, 99.7 of all jobs being created are done by small businesses. Yet, less than 1 percent of this spending bill (aka "The Stimulus Bill") is earmarked for small business.
We're all going about our business as if everything will be OK. We're planning making movies, planning families, planning weddings, planning on buying houses, planning on buying cars, all based on false assumptions that everything will be OK. It won't be unless we all kick everyone out of congress and start over with people that respect our right to keep what we earn and quit bailing out everyone that's been irresponsible.

It's true that "The Time has come for All Good Men to come to the Aid of their Countrymen." Speaking up or speaking out DOES make a difference, not only in alerting the lemmings who voted Obama in that there are those present who can see their Messiah has no clothes (or sense) but in letting others who feel as you do that they're not alone. Are there any "Tea Parties" taking place in your area? The mainstream media has all but ignored the phenomena, but grassroots protests are taking place all over the country (Orlando, FL had one last week that drew over 4,000 people.)
Anger is growing, and I wouldn't be surprised if Talk turns to violence. England is now officially broke, and there is rumor that in a matter of months their government will be facing a "Summer of Rage." The reality is that unless there is a dramatic change of direction - unless the Majority Voice is acknowledged and heeded - we could also be facing one of our own.
My advice? Stay informed, speak up if you feel safe doing so, vote against the insanity, and keep the faith. Also, get a wind-up Emergency Radio, store up some non-perishable food (and a can opener :), and learn to target shoot!
If you have half a brain OR heart, you batten down the hatches and do whatever you need to to protect those you love. That includes taking a stand when the powers that be are out of control.
For the record, I love to drink tea -- I prefer hurling "you can do it!" commentary.
