First, we're happy to announce that the team has identified and fixed the issue with the YouTube conduit; you can now find and add videos from YouTube to your library and posts. As always, thanks for your patience!
The other news we have today is about a new addition to the Six Apart family: TypePad Micro, a new free level of TypePad that is streamlined for microblogging. We see a new form of blogging emerging that lives between the quick status updates of Twitter and Facebook and the long-form posts of "classic" blogging; TypePad Micro is designed to meet that need. You can read more about TypePad Micro in Chris Alden's post on the Everything TypePad blog.
A lot of the new capabilities we've added to TypePad this year were actually inspired by some of the best things about Vox: favoriting, member profiles, a dashboard to follow other bloggers, and easy ways to post content from other social media sites. But the things that make Vox different from TypePad are still there: Vox has always been -- and still is -- the best place for "friends and family" blogging, where you're in control over who sees what. TypePad, on the other hand, is built for the blogger who wants, no, craves, attention.
Do you have a passion or interest you want to share with people beyond your Vox neighborhood? If so, we'd love it if you tried out TypePad Micro. Maybe you've always wanted to start that obsessive blog that's just about waffle restaurants. Or want a place to share videos of your favorite band (Jonas Brothers, anyone? Anyone? ...). TypePad Micro's great for those topic-specific blogs. Take it for a spin and let us know what you think.
On the Vox front, our designers are working on some cool new themes (coming soon!). We'd also love to hear your thoughts about where we should take Vox in the coming year. What are the key things you'd like to see for Vox? If you've had a chance to use TypePad this year, what are the features there that we should bring over to Vox? And, if you're thinking big thoughts, how could we connect the Vox and TypePad communities in order to bring together bloggers and their shared passions? Your feedback is really important to us, so please leave a comment here, or shoot me a message.
And again, thanks for your patience as we found and fixed the YouTube bug!

As many of you have noticed, the YouTube Conduit is not working. I am so sorry about this; I know how frustrating it is.
The team is looking into how to get this fixed and I will update you as soon as I hear something. In the meantime, not all is lost... There is a work-around for posting videos.
When you're in the Compose Screen, just click on "embed." Ignore the fact that it says "Widget" before everything because you can definitely use this to embed videos as well. You'll just need to input the embed code from the video, enter a title (if you want) and hit OK.
It might not show up perfectly in your compose screen, but when you hit "Save," your video should appear just the way you wanted it to.
Hopefully this will allow you to keep posting videos while we figure out what's happening on our end.
As always, thanks for your patience.
Go forth and fill your libraries with media.
Seriously, thanks to everyone for being so amazing and patient. You are the reason I love Vox.
I was just told that the Amazon Conduit will be fixed by tomorrow. I will post here as soon as I get word that it's back up and running.
I know this has been frustrating and I am sorry there wasn't more I could do to make it less so. I really appreciate your patience though.
Cheers,
Bad news. As many of you have probably noticed, the Amazon Conduit was not fixed in the last week's release. Unfortunately, there was an undetected bug that is preventing the conduit from working.
We are working on this bug fix and hope to have the Conduit back up and running this week.
I will keep you posted.
Thank you for being so patient.
I apologize to any who might miss my periodic blathering. I've been doing what most of us know is a squandering of time and effort. You may know that I occasionally get baited into word wrangles with other than worthy bloggers on what I consider otherwise entertaining and enlightening groups. Such as the most recent case. I digressed from sharing a point of view to trying to present it in ways that might be clear to one of those people who just can't help not getting it.
Yes I did . Went and tried to enlighten a brick. and teach the proverbial Pig to Sing, Well The Pig is annoyed and the brick is still thick. But for now I'm reclaiming my time.
Appreciate your patience folks! Color me chagrined!

Let's be reasonable for a moment. Just a bit of a reality check.. Is there a reason why the venture capitalists of this world weren't already funding Fisker? This is the kind of thing that goes beyond leaving us scratching our heads. It's going to be an interesting fable when they start explaining how this is anything but a major payoff to a political cohort. It Stinks no matter what side of it is down-wind and it's Ugly even through a blindfold!

ACORN at least lied about all the good they could do. If they were mugging us than this is The Great Train Robbery! What exactly do we get for this Investment? Did Delorean or Bricklin line their pockets with this kind of government fluff? If we invest that much in a foreigh auto company we had better be getting more than 50% ownership in that company. When it flops we should be able to sell it off to recoup our losses. If you have any doubt that this is anything but a money loser why haven't you bought shares or is it you're going to be lining up to purchase one of these wondermobiles right off the showroom floor of your local dealer...Yup....Take it to D.C. I don't buy it! Somebody needs to tell these folks they've gone too far Again. The former V.P. has no collateral in my bank. This is a point at which we tea party up again and say ."NO .again you idiots! Get Soros to pay up! I can't afford this has been once was V.P and his Green pipedreams in Finland!"
Somebody expain how Gore's Finnish investment is a better deal than the Tesla financing right here in the USA.
Drill now in the prime Geothermal area in the nation and get California to drive all electric There is enough money going to Fisker to provide the Pacific coast with more juice than it will ever need.

Fisker sounds suspicously like our government still buying hammers and toilet seats that are 24 carat gold plated stupid!
You make the call? In a civil action against Obama and his cronies the Justice department have stepped in again to prevent those same questions that nag at us from being put to rest.

This same group that is looking into back stabbing the career CIA officials who have put their lives on the edge to preserve the Nation are also involved in defending (at the taxpayers expense { That's US Folks!}) Obama from well intentioned Constitutional pursuits of justice! They can't cobble together a few folks to investigate and indict ACORN personnel. but they can interfere in a civil action that seems to me a matter in which they properly should recuse themselves!
Did they represent Clinton when Flowers and them tried to get the truth out? Don't think so!
This is a case where the "Jack Booted Thugs" are clearly misguided. If justice were their intent surely recognizing the concept that no man is above the law and the Oath of Office they have sworn to would indicate that they are on the wrong side of these issues.
It is baffling how this guy can spend a million or so on private litigators and have the government in reserve to keep a few justifyably curios patriotic Americans from the peace of mind that would come with the end of his obfuscating. It's become increasingly less difficult to believe that it doesn't matter with each week that passes. Where once there was a question of his "natural born" status that could have been answered by a Birth Certificate that a Hawaiian clerk swore existed and had been "Seen" we now have more than enough copies of various questionable documents that have as much credibility as the ones provided initially to clear things up. As if that isn't enough now word is that Hawaii destroyed the records in question after computerizing them nearly a decade ago (Or Not!)
As a result of the slick side-stepping folks got to wondering what else. and boy the magnet fell into the iron filings! What about the doctored "Selective Service" card, the missing College grades, the passport and financing used for the College buddy trip to the Middle-East, the Harvard years, the Bar question of other names? You see the mess that can and has resulted on the heels of the corrupt little cover-up that no one should have even noticed?
What now? The NEA (a luxury we can no longer afford) is knee deep in the ACORN cash for trash Quid-pro-Quo propaganda machine of the Lefties! You'd think DOJ has enough to deal with if they just managed the Government corruption thats squatted on their faces while they're looking into possible problems in the last administration.
Hello folks This is what we call a Forest! Anything in particular you recognize about it?
Good for you ! Yes! ...... TREES!
Now perhaps you;ve noticed the smell? Wake up and quit standing there in the bear scat!
Oh how we love our beaurocrats, politicians and diplomats. Just give me a representative who truly is! (for a change)
